We are women working together for gender equality

Gender equity is a basic human right, and its achievement brings socio-economic benefits to everyone. By empowering women, the broader community thrives, increasing positive productivity and growth. However, gender inequities are still deeply entrenched in every society.

  • We lobby government at all levels - local, state and national -and consult with business, industry and organisations to provide a gender perspective on key issues.
  • Our members have the opportunity to influence government decisions on issues important to women by lobbying for policy and legislative change, developing their own skills and experience in the process.
  • We take action to achieve women’s equality in social, economic, community and political terms . Our advocacy, projects, programs and partnerships focus on issues that affect women and workplaces such as pay inequity, accessible and affordable childcare and housing, a lack of support for women’s refuges and domestic violence.

This week, BPW Coffs Coast proudly marked Equal Pay Day with an event that was not only informative but also engaging and thought-provoking. Coffee Mornings

We meet for a free casual coffee morning at 10 am on the first Wednesday of each month at the Surf Club Restaurant and Bar, Park Beach, Coffs Harbour.  All women are welcome and fun and friendship is guaranteed. Order at the counter and ask to be guided to the BPW Table.

Women Wisdom and Wine

We run a series of monthly social events where we discuss topics relevant to women's equity and success. These are open to members and non-members and will run on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 pm at the Pier Hotel, Harbour Drive, Coffs Harbour.

We hold monthly management meetings, open to members only, to discuss local projects and advocacy work and discover the work being undertaken in Australia and internationally for women and girls.
